Why visit Hiroshima and Miyajima with a private English-speaking guide?
Hiroshima and Miyajima offer two very different experiences. Hiroshima invites visitors to understand the city’s history, remembrance, reconstruction and message of peace. Miyajima combines religious heritage, maritime landscapes, traditions and nature.
An English-speaking guide can provide the historical and cultural context needed to understand these places, facilitate transportation between the different sites and adapt the time spent at each location according to your expectations.
Nature and… does not offer the same itinerary to every traveler. We consider your accommodation, arrival or departure time, preferred pace and priority sites in order to look for a coherent itinerary.

Choose a Half-Day, Full-Day or Two-Day Visit
Hiroshima in 4 Hours
A 4-hour tour generally allows you to visit the main sites related to remembrance and peace, or combine some of these places with another aspect of central Hiroshima.
The time spent in the museum must be considered when preparing the itinerary, as it has a significant impact on the number of other places that can be included.
Miyajima in 4 Hours
A 4-hour tour may be suitable for visiting Itsukushima Shrine, the surrounding streets and one or two other nearby places.
When the meeting point is in central Hiroshima, travel time to the island is included in the duration of the service. Meeting directly on Miyajima leaves more time for the visit.
Hiroshima and Miyajima in 8 Hours
An 8-hour day allows us to consider a combined itinerary covering Hiroshima and Miyajima, provided that the priority sites are selected and the program remains realistic.
Transportation, the ferry crossing, possible waiting times and time spent in museums are included in the duration of the tour. It is therefore not possible to explore every site in depth in both destinations during a single day.
Hiroshima and Miyajima in Two Days
Two days allow more time for the Peace Memorial Museum, Hiroshima’s history and the different monuments within the park, followed by a more relaxed visit to Miyajima.
This arrangement is also more suitable when you would like to include Daisho-in Temple, more time in nature, Mount Misen or longer rest breaks.
Preparing Your Visit to Hiroshima and Miyajima
Allow Enough Time for the Peace Memorial Museum
Visiting the museum requires time and can be emotionally intense. Some travelers prefer to be accompanied by their guide, while others prefer to explore the exhibitions independently and meet the guide afterward. This can be discussed during the preparation of the tour.
Consider the Tides on Miyajima
Itsukushima Shrine and the Great Torii Gate have a different atmosphere at high tide and low tide. Tide times can be considered when preparing the itinerary, although a specific appearance cannot be guaranteed.
Choose Transportation That Fits the Itinerary
Travel between Hiroshima and Miyajima can be arranged using a combination of public transportation and ferry services. The most suitable option depends on the starting point, schedule, itinerary and operating conditions on the day of the tour.
Allow More Time for Mount Misen
Visiting Mount Misen requires more time than exploring the areas close to the shrine. The itinerary must take your walking ability, the weather and the operation of the available transportation services into account.
